Field Safety Manager

March 2023  |  Contegra has an immediate need for a Field Safety Manager. The Field Safety Manager will support the on-site project staff, office staff, and field safety staff in an effort to implement the Contegra Construction safety and health standards and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements.  Responsibilities will be all-encompassing for each project the Engineer is dedicated to.

Daily job site location will vary depending on needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Contegra Construction Corporate Safety Strategy across each jobsite
  • Conduct training for Contegra employees on-site as needed
  • Conduct weekly jobsite safety inspections
  • Conduct safety meetings/toolbox talks
  • Act as a resource for safety issues/concerns
  • Conduct orientation for new employees, subcontractors, and any additional site personnel
  • Assist and review subcontractor daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Assist and review subcontractor safety policies and procedures
  • Identify project trends and proactively execute safety initiatives to avoid hazards
  • Report any incidents in an effective and timely manner
  • Conduct effective incident investigations and provide Root Cause Analysis reports to on-site staff and necessary corporate employees
  • Attend pre-job meetings for project-specific operations
  • Collect and maintain appropriate documentation for all subcontractors
  • Monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • Participate in any safety-related regulatory inspections

Education/Experience

  • B.S. in Safety and Health or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years safety experience or combination of education and multiple years’ experience in construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques
  • OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation
  • OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
