Contegra Construction Completes 1.1M SF Distribution Facility Near Columbus
December 9, 2023 | Contegra Construction Co. has completed a 1.1-million square-foot distribution facility at the Cubes at Etna 70 industrial development near Columbus, Ohio.
The speculative facility known as Building E was built for developer CRG and its capital partner LXP Industrial Trust. The 289-acre master-planned development is located at 9800 Schuster Way at the SR 310 and Interstate 70, approximately 20 minutes from Downtown Columbus, 15 minutes from John Glenn International Airport and 20 minutes from Rickenbacker International Airport.
The new speculative facility was designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative. Contegra constructed the project with tilt-up concrete panels. It features 40-foot clear height, 108 dock doors, four drive-in docks, fully equipped dock packages with manual dock levelers, clerestory warehouse windows, an ESFR sprinkler system, efficient LED high-bay lighting with occupancy sensors and parking for 289 tractor-trailers and 298 cars with space to add additional trailer parking. The facility’s roof features energy-efficient TPO roofing with R20 insulation.
At full build out, The Cubes at Etna 70 is a CRG master-planned industrial park will offer up to 2.9 million-square-feet of modern industrial space across approximately 220.6 acres. Building E adds to the park’s ongoing growth which includes a 1.2 million-square-foot, build-to-suit, distribution center development for retail giant Kohl’s.
CRG has planned projects, broken ground or completed approximately 53million square feet of Cubes projects for Fortune 500 and other users throughout the U.S. Other recently completed projects in the Columbus market include The Cubes at Rickenbacker, a 320,000-square-foot speculative industrial project in Obetz, Ohio, also constructed by Contegra.
