Contegra Completes Expansion for McLeod Express in Decatur, IL
December 2, 2025 | With increasing demand for warehousing space in the Central Illinois, family-owned McLeod Express has opened its second warehouse in Decatur, Ill. Contegra Construction completed the 611,000-square-foot facility. It supplements McLeod’s existing warehouse operations and is conveniently located about a mile from the I-72 exchange and three miles from the Midwest Inland Port in Decatur.
“Our partnership with Contegra delivered a best-in-class distribution center and we are very satisfied with the results,” noted Colt McLeod, president, McLeod. “From start to finish, Contegra communicated a thoughtful plan and efficiently executed their timeline.” The new facility supplements a 100,000 square-foot warehouse McLeod has owned and operated since 2001.
Located on a 37-acre site at 3960 East Mound Rd., the warehouse is constructed of tilt-up concrete panels with a 36-foot clear height, LED lighting and a TPO roof. The facility hosts 56 dock doors including four drive-through doors. It includes dock levelers and truck restraints as a safety feature to hold the trailer in place as it is being off loaded or loaded. Parking is available for 63 cars and 64 trucks. The building also hosts a two-story, 6,000-square-foot office space.
